Hi everyone,

Hope you're all having a good week; as promised I've got lots of news to share and something a bit different today. I've recently been playing with my dad's Leica M3, which my Granddad bought when the single stroke was released.

The camera has been all over the world but got a bit forgotten about until recently. It's been amazing getting to know the camera, I started out in the world of photography with black and white film and it's nice to go back to that format. Getting used to a rangefinder has actually been a lot easier than I thought it would be, and being forced to think about each shot and its aperture and shutter settings has been a lot of fun.

The Leica M3

The M3 is amazing to use, to think that it was built all those years ago it still shoots perfectly and it just works...

There's a lot of hype about how incredible using a Leica is and to be honest I hadn't really subscribed to that view until I actually got to use one. I really urge you if possible to give one a go, there's something quite magical about it.

I'm going to start using it alongside my portrait sessions, taking a few shots on the Leica and seeing how they turn out. I think it'll be great to change up my formats and keep my thinking as fresh as possible, so look out for a Leica shot posted every now and then!

I hope you have a great week and as usual get in touch if you'd like to arrange a shoot with me, especially if it involves a Leica!
